The China-Arab States Expo Advisory Committee transition and consultation meeting took place in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on Aug 16.

Officials attending the meeting were from the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, the Industry Promotion Department of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, relevant departments of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, as well as Chinese and foreign advisory committee members.

The meeting comprehensively reviewed the significant role played by the previous advisory committee in assisting with the overall planning of the China-Arab States Expo, organizing guest invitations, facilitating project matchmaking, and promoting external publicity. It also reported on the hosting of the past six China-Arab States Expos and the development of the open economy in Ningxia. The meeting elected the new chairman, vice chairman, and members of the new term of the China-Arab States Expo Advisory Committee.

Attendees agreed that the China-Arab States Expo, an important platform for the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative between China and Arab countries, has been playing a crucial role in promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and other countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, including Arab countries.

Members expressed their commitment to leveraging their strengths, focusing on the goals of China-Arab economic and trade cooperation, innovating the operation mechanism of the China-Arab States Expo, expanding cooperation in the China-Arab supply chain and industrial chain, and creating the "Ningxia Channel" for China-Arab cooperation. They pledged to effectively serve as advisors, bridges, and ambassadors, contributing to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative between China and Arab countries.

Since its establishment in 2015, the China-Arab States Expo Advisory Committee has been dedicated to organizing the China-Arab States Expo effectively and advancing Ningxia's goal of opening up to the outside world at a high level.

Through on-site investigations, thematic discussions, decision-making consultations, and promotional activities, the committee has conducted over 50 research, discussion, and exchange activities, submitted more than 200 consultation reports and theoretical articles, and produced over 10 theoretical works. The committee has played a crucial role in providing strategic advice, risk prevention and mitigation, and promoting high-quality development.

The secretariat of the China-Arab States Expo will continue to coordinate and provide support to the committee, enhance the operation mechanism of the committee, and gather the wisdom and strength of committee members to further enhance the shining reputation of the China-Arab States Expo.
