Chinese wolfberry products show up in the United Nations

  • The 16th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 2nd to 13rd December. Chinese wolfberry products from Ningxia Hui autonomous region, including dried wolfberries, wolfberry syrup, wolfberry bud tea and fresh wolfberries showed up on the booth of China Pavilion. The "magic fruit of longevity" from the East allows people from all over the world to experience the charm of "Chinese health".

    Representatives from various countries were tasting wolfberry products at the China Pavilion booth.

    As China's desertification prevention and control model region, Ningxia pushes forward for years the prevention and control of desertification and its development as a whole to create a modern Chinese wolfberry industry featuring ecological, economic and social benefits.

    Representatives from various countries were enquiring about wolfberry products of Ningxia.

    As of the end of 2023, the area of wolfberry planting in Ningxia has reached 325,000 mu, and the annual output of fresh fruits was 320,000 tons. More than 120 kinds of wolfberry products of 10 categories were developed, and the comprehensive output value of the whole industrial chain reached 29 billion yuan. Such products were sold to 58 countries and regions. In a word, wolfberry has become the "red business card" and "gold-lettered signboard" of Ningxia while bring environmental and economic benefits to the Gobi Desert in the Northwest China.
