XinhuaEkta Tolani, chief investment officer of Saudi KBW Ventures, said in Abu Dhabi, UAE a few days ago that the company is optimistic about China's "plenty of investment opportunities" in areas such as healthcare and biotechnology, as the economic and trade ties between the Gulf region and China strengthen.
In an interview with Xinhua during the 3rd Abu Dhabi Financial Week, Tolani said that China is a technology leader in some fields, especially in healthcare, and the venture capital firm hopes to strengthen cooperation with Chinese partners in that area.
Tolani noted that biotechnology is a crucial emerging industry that provides many opportunities for investors. "China is already quite advanced in the field of biotechnology. We have noticed that regional sovereign wealth funds are highly interested in this field."
Based in Saudi Arabia, KBW Ventures makes its investments in biotechnology, artificial intelligence and other fields. The 3rd Abu Dhabi Financial Week, held from Dec. 9th to 12th, is a landmark annual financial event in the region, aiming to build a high-end platform for exchanges and cooperation for the global financial industry.
