MOFCOMThe 1st Meeting of China-UAE Investment and Economic Cooperation Working Group kicked off on 12th December, 2024 in Dubai. It was co-chaired by Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative, and Abdulla Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the UAE's Ministry of Economy. Both sides had an in-depth exchange on how to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and promote the high-quality development of China-UAE investment and cooperation.

Ling Ji highlighted that both sides have achieved fruitful results in bilateral economic and trade cooperation under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state. The UAE is the top destination for Chinese direct investment and source of foreign investment in the Arab world. Such vibrant cooperation opens up a broad space for the two countries to cooperate in the production and supply chains. China welcomes investment from UAE institutions and enterprises, and encourages Chinese enterprises to invest in the UAE and carry out mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as innovation, advanced manufacturing and green development, so as to boost the UAE's infrastructure construction and industrialization process.
According Saleh, the UAE is willing to work with China to promote the implementation of the important consensus reached by the two heads of state. The investment and cooperation between both sides is diversified, wide-ranging and full of potential. The UAE will further optimize the business environment and welcome Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in the UAE.
